Some clubs play through the summer and members would be advised of this by their club.

Types of games played:

Most of the clubs play mens, ladies and mixed doubles games.  Singles can be played if numbers permit, courts are available and you can find a willing opponent!  Players mix with all members with games usually chosen from a named peg board system, or with club official organising games.

Standard of players:

All clubs have a wide range of player standard.  You can go to any club as a visitor and see where you fit in. Clubs usually charge a visitor fee which is usually reimbursed against your club fees if you join that club.

Membership fees:

As a player of a club there are various membership fees to be paid, which include social membership with the Guernsey Badminton Association and membership and insurance with Badminton England.  Your club fees also include the cost of the courts for the evening and shuttles.

As a general guide, an annual club fee including all membership fees are usually in the region of £120 – £150 which is around £4 per evening. Each club sets their own fees for the season.

Most clubs enter teams in the Level Doubles, Mixed Doubles & Singles Leagues.  League matches are played on Wednesday evenings from 7 pm at the Rohais Badminton Halls.

Casual play:

If you don’t wish to join a club you can still book courts and use the Rohais Badminton Halls to play on a casual basis.  Further details can be found on our About page.
