Paulo Pinheiro (Development Officer) visits primary schools throughout the year to deliver 6 weeks of badminton sessions to pupil in Years 3, 4, 5 & 6.
These pupils start off learning some basic coordination skills and slowly develop week on week until they are able to play fun games over a portable badminton net. Each pupil that participates gets a certificate of achievement at the end of their sessions.
Primary schools pupils in years 5 & 6 also have the opportunity to enter into the Specsavers Youth Games that is held every two year and next due in June 2021.
Secondary schools organise their own leagues that are played at the badminton halls, the winners of each of the sections (KS3 Boys & Girls and KS4 Boys & Girls) have the opportunity to go and represent Guernsey schools in the National Schools Championships organised by Badminton England.
